YOU’RE IN GOOD COMPANY
A little help
settling in.
Find answers about installing Settee on Mac, adding your TV provider, managing your account and setting up kids profiles.
What is Settee?
Settee.tv is a personal IPTV player for Mac. It plays live TV, movies and shows from your own authorised TV provider. Add an authorised Xtream login or M3U playlist to browse your library, create profiles and get Ask the Usher recommendations. Settee includes no content or provider subscription. The Mac release is early access.
Does Settee include channels or a provider subscription?
No. Settee does not include a channel lineup or provider subscription. It plays authorised sources you add using an Xtream login or M3U playlist. Your provider’s rules and simultaneous-stream limits still apply.
What do I need to get started?
An Apple silicon Mac with macOS 13 or later, an internet connection, and a TV source you’re authorised to use. Settee accepts an Xtream login or M3U playlist. Download the app, then follow its setup prompts.
How do I install Settee on my Mac?
Download the ZIP from the Mac download page, unpack it and move Settee to Applications. This early-access build may be blocked by macOS while signing and notarisation are finalised. Contact support if it will not open. Please do not disable your Mac’s system-wide security settings.
Are paid plans available yet?
You can download the Mac early-access build now. Paid plans are not on sale yet. Prices and what each plan includes will be shown before checkout opens.
Can I use Settee on an Intel Mac?
No. The current download supports Apple silicon Macs with an M-series chip, running macOS 13 or later. Intel Macs are not supported.
How do I sign in on another device?
Use the same Settee account email and password on each device. You can manage profiles, your TV provider and devices from My account on a phone or computer. When the Samsung TV version is available, you can also scan its sign-in QR code and confirm the TV on your phone. Never send passwords or TV codes to support.
What are Xtream and M3U?
These are two ways to add a compatible TV source. An Xtream login uses a server address, username and password from your provider. An M3U playlist is a file or URL listing the channels or titles available from that source. Neither is a subscription supplied by Settee. Keep login details and playlist URLs private.
Where do I find an Xtream login or M3U playlist?
Your authorised provider supplies these details. Check its account page or ask its support team. Settee does not sell or recommend providers. Treat any playlist URL containing a login as a password.
Why will a channel or movie not play?
Check your connection, your provider account and any simultaneous-stream limit. In Settee, use the source test in Settings → Library. If your provider reports an error, contact them. For app problems, use Report a problem or email us, leaving out logins, playlist URLs and viewing history.
What do kids profiles show?
Kids profiles show titles that pass the age setting selected by an adult. Unrated titles and live channels are hidden. The grown-up PIN is needed to leave kids mode. Ratings can be incomplete or wrong; adults remain responsible for supervision.
What if I forget my grown-up PIN?
The grown-up PIN is separate from your Settee account password. Use the recovery option shown in the app, or contact support if you’re stuck. Never send your PIN or password in a support email.
Can I help someone else set up their TV?
Yes, with their permission. Help them create or sign in to their own Settee account, add their authorised TV provider and set up profiles. Use their account when helping with their devices.
Why is the Usher showing quick picks?
The quick picker is a fallback when the Usher service is unavailable or unconfigured, or when a usage limit is reached. Follow the explanation shown in the app. Quick picks don’t promise a timed return unless a daily limit was actually reached.
How do I delete my account?
Open My account, sign in and choose Delete account. Confirm with your password. This removes your profiles, TV provider and watch history from every device and cannot be undone.
Can I watch live sports and channels?
Yes, when they are available through your authorised TV provider. Settee does not include channels, match broadcasts or a provider subscription. Programme-guide information depends on available data, and your provider’s stream limits still apply.
How are my provider details protected?
Your provider details, viewing history and lists are encrypted. The database alone cannot decrypt them; a server-held key copy is protected by a master key kept outside the database. Your signed-in devices receive the key to access your account data. We don’t read, sell or share those details. Video streams directly from your provider to your device. Never send provider passwords in a support email.
When can I get Settee on Samsung TV?
The TV build is in development and is not publicly listed yet. Email hello@getsettee.com if you would like to discuss testing, including your TV model and year.
