SETTEE · POLICY DRAFT

Copyright Policy

Working draft for review. Based on the supplied 24 October 2026 policy draft. Settee is the working operator name; contact hello@getsettee.com. Legal operator identification, postal contact if needed, payment arrangements, metadata disclosures, retention details and copyright-agent registration remain to be confirmed. Some statements describe planned features. This draft is not the final published policy.

Settee respects copyright and expects its users to do the same. This policy explains how to report infringement and what we do about it, under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and Canada's Copyright Act.

What Settee hosts, and what it doesn't

Reporting infringement

Send a written notice to our designated agent with:

  1. your physical or electronic signature
  2. the copyrighted work you believe is infringed
  3. the material you believe infringes it, and where it is in Settee (for example, a channel's name in the free lineup, or the address of a published list page)
  4. your name, address, phone number and email
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law
  6. a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner

Copyright contact: hello@getsettee.com. Formal designated-agent details and registration are not confirmed in this draft.

What we do

When we receive a valid notice about material we control, we remove it or disable access to it promptly. Where a published list page is involved, we tell the user who published it.

Counter-notices

If your material was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to our designated agent with:

  1. your physical or electronic signature
  2. what was removed, and where it appeared before removal
  3. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification
  4. your name, address and phone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the US federal district court for your address (or, if you're outside the US, any judicial district where Settee may be found), and to accept service from the person who sent the original notice

We'll forward the counter-notice to the original sender. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they've started court action, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving the counter-notice.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of users who are the subject of repeated valid notices, where we can identify the account.

Canadian notices

We accept notices under Canada's notice-and-notice rules at the same address. Where a notice identifies a Settee account, we'll forward it to that user as the law requires. If it does not identify an account, we may need more information to determine the intended recipient.

False claims

Under the DMCA, anyone who knowingly makes a materially false claim in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages.
